On the occasion of its 75th anniversary in 2021, the IEEE Computer Society launched the Distinguished Contributor Recognition Program to showcase the combined technical expertise and innovation power of its membership.

Torben Bach Pedersen, Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Aalborg University, and member of the Data Engineering, Science and Systems research group has now been appointed IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Contributor in recognition of his contributions to the IEEE Computer Society and the computer science profession.

- I am honored, proud, and humble to receive this recognition from a top international scientific society for my contributions to Big Data Analytics and digital energy, says Torben Bach Pedersen.

The Distinguished Contributor Recognition Program recognizes members with the most technical accomplishments. These accomplishments may include “test-of-time” awards, highly cited papers, papers in top journals and conferences, keynotes, contributions to products, development of standards, patents, etc.
