Mohammad Hadi Mehdizavareh has joined DESS as a PhD student in machine learning and deep learning. He has a master's degree in biomedical engineering from University of Tehran, Iran.

Research area and focus:

- My general research area is machine learning and deep learning with a focus on biomedical and biological data. I also like to work on large-scale systems especially those involved in the healthcare systems.

Projects you are/will be involved in?

- In the last few years, I worked on search algorithms for pathology images. Also, during my master's degree, I worked on developing learning algorithms to improve the performance of brain-computer interfaces.

Currently, I'm part of Arijit Khan's team and we are going to collaborate with the Department of Health Science and Technology (HST) and work on eICU data to reduce the mortality risk in hospitals.

Why did you choose to continue your career at AAU?

- I always wanted to work on deep learning methods and biomedical/biological problems together. I was also interested in Danish culture and its multi-disciplinary and multinational work environment. Therefore, I decided to move here and start an exciting chapter of my life.
