Meet Helena Bøjer Djernæs - new research assistant in the HCC group

: 06.09.2023

Please welcome Helena Bøjer Djernæs, who joined the Department of Computer Science as a Research Assistant in the HCC group on August 1.

Helena Bøjer Djernæs has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Design (Industrial Design) and a Master of Science in IT-Design and Application development - both from Aalborg University.

Your research area and focus

- As a research assistant in the Human Centred Computing group, my work is split between supervising student project groups, assisting in teaching, and doing research. The research I'm doing, focuses on the interaction between students in healthcare, and the simulators that are used for practising clinical abilities.

Projects you are/will be involved in

- The specific project I will be involved in, is the EXPLAIN-ME project of Digital Research Centre Denmark (DIREC).

Why did you choose to continue your career at AAU?

- I am very curious of nature and have always loved gaining new insights, understanding new perspectives, as well as the prospect of using that insight for generating impact in some way. Down the road, this led to an interest in doing research and getting the opportunity to really engage in a research topic that I strongly resonate with - which was realized through the opportunity to study HCI in a healthcare setting here at AAU.
