Out of IEE’s more than 400,000 members, only 10 percent have been awarded the honour of Senior Membership, a grade that is bestowed on members who have made significant contributions to their profession. According to K.J. Ray Liu, IEEE President and CEO, being elevated to IEEE Senior Member requires extensive experience and reflects maturity and documented achievements of significance.
“I am very pleased to receive this honor. Being recognized by your peers is always a motivating factor for me, and the professional standing of IEEE is very high, especially in the engineering field,” says Arijit Khan.
The research area of Arijit Khan, who joined the DESS research group as Associate Professor in May 2022, is data management for the emerging problems in large graphs, with a focus on user-friendly, efficient, and approximate querying and pattern mining in social and information networks, using scalable algorithms, machine learning techniques, and distributed systems.
Arijit Khan received the DKK 10 million Novo Nordisk Foundation RECRUIT Grant this year and is currently putting together his research team, which will be working within knowledge management with a specific focus on applications within biology and health care.
